Golden Jackets Italy ("we", "community") values the privacy of its members and visitors. This policy describes how we collect, use, store and protect your personal data, in compliance with the Italian General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR - EU Regulation 2016/679) and the Italian Privacy Code (D.Lgs. 196/2003).

1. Data we collect

When you register with the community, we collect:

• Full name
• Email address
• City and region
• LinkedIn profile URL
• Profile photo (uploaded by you)
• Certification date

2. How we use your data

• Display your member card on the public community website (name, photo, city, LinkedIn)
• Create your Members Lounge access account
• Send community communications (events, updates)
• Compile community statistics (number of members, regions represented)

3. Legal basis

Processing of your data is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) EU GDPR), provided at the time of registration through the application form.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties. Your data is only visible:

• On the public community website (name, photo, city, LinkedIn)
• In the open source project repository on GitHub (same scope as above)

5. Storage and security

Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS):

• Amazon S3 (website and photos) — encryption at rest
• Amazon Cognito (authentication) — encrypted passwords
• Amazon CloudFront (distribution) — HTTPS enforced

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or destruction.

6. Your rights

Under EU GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access: know what data we hold about you
• Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure: request removal of your data and card from the site
• Withdraw consent: revoke your authorisation at any time
• Portability: receive your data in a structured format

7. Data retention

Your data is retained while you are an active member of the community. Upon requesting deletion, your data will be removed within 15 working days.

8. Cookies

Our website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. We only use local storage (sessionStorage) to maintain your session in the Members Lounge.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated to members by email or through the community group.
